Download

Description:

Rice husk was long considered a waste from the rice milling process and was often dumped or burned. But because it can be easily collected and is cheap, some amount of rice husk has always been used as an energy source for small applications, such as for brick production, for steam engines and gasifiers used to power rice mills, and for generating heat for rice dryers. Malaysia produces many agricultural wastes such as rice husk, sugar cane, palm oil shrubs and so on. The material is often causing problems in the process of disposal and thus contributing to pollution environment. The rice husk will be mix with resin which is urea-formaldehyde and then will pressed with hot press machine to form particleboard to make compartment shelf. Over the last few years, various studies have been conducted to identify possible possibilities for changing remnants the farm becomes a substance of commercial value. The objective of this product is to produce the compartment shelf from rice husk. It is also to determine the bending stress of the rice husk particleboard in bending test and to determine the physical properties in water absorption test.
