Pipeline leaks are growing concern for the water transmission industry. This creates the need to prevent leakage threats and minimize their damage through extensive research in leak detection technologies. This research work provides a detailed investigation of pipeline leakage history by reviewing previous year’s billing statements. Pipe located in polytechnic area is an old pipe that does not have SIRIM approval which is very thin compared to SIRIM approved pipe. In most water distribution systems, the amount of water lost is extremely important as it can result in financial loss and environmental pollution. Leakage of water from pipes depends on several factors such as pressure, pipe material and types of crack and holes. This study discusses pipeline leakage occurring in Politeknik Merlimau that has been accompanied by billing statement and the damage to pipelines that have been maintained as evidence of leakage.
