'The flood mitigation involves the management and control of flood water movement, such as redirecting flood run-off through the use of floodwalls and flood gates, rather than trying to prevent floods altogether. This flood mitigation plan works to reduce flooding in flood-prone areas. The objectives of this study are to study the effectiveness of flood mitigation plan in prevent flood and to analyse the effects of flood mitigation plan to the community surrounding at Sungai Kesang, Tangkak, Johor. To know the effects of flood mitigation plan to the community surrounding at Sungai Kesang, the questionnaire were distributed to the residents of the both villages. Quantifiable data from the questionnaires was coded into the SPSS IBM (23.0) for analysis. The bar charts from the SPSS IBM (23.0) were identified the main effect of flood mitigation plan to the residents. In conclusion, many positive impact affects the residents after the flood mitigation plan project has been implement in Kesang River, Tangkak.
