The Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 was introduced in Malaysia to foster, stimulate and improve safety and quality health at work especially on construction sites. Its main purpose is to improve employers or organizational concerns about safety and the health of their employees, besides emphasizing the steps effective occupational safety. However, the rate of internal accidents in construction sector is seen to be a very remarkable event in the past. This is because the construction industry is a unique industry with work which various fields and need to be completed within a limited time. This research discussing the practices, problems and strategies undertaken within occupational safety and health management according to the contractor's perspective. This study uses qualitative methods. An interview was conducted at a Jasin, Melaka experienced contractor company in the industry construction to obtain information study. The results showed that there were some practices of safety and health practices implemented such as security policy, safety and health meeting, education and training, site safety checks, and equipment protection equipment (PPE). Problem faced such as the attitude of workers and the low level of awareness among them workers. Some strategies have been done such as checking regularly, and more effective education and training.
