A CASE STUDY OF TRAFFIC CHARACTERISTICS ON ACCIDENT AREA AT LEBUH AMJ
Abstract:
Road accidents are 'a global tragedy' trend is constantly increasing. The goal of the study is to identify the causes of the accident and the vehicle speed region studied. This research area Lebuh AMJ (Semabok-Melaka Sentral) because the area is identified as black or 'black spots' which often fatal accidents. The study was conducted for 2 weeks and the data taken during the 3 days a week and a day for 1 hour in the morning and evening 1 hour by using a 'radar gun' and the 'traffic survey'. In addition, this study can identify the speed and number of vehicles surveyed area during peak hours of the time people go out to work and when people come home from work.Keyword: Road accident, vehicle speed, black spot
Suggestion for future work
Unlike many other disciplines of the engineering, the situations that are interesting to a traffic engineer cannot be reproduced in a laboratory. Even if road and vehicles could be set up in large laboratories, it is impossible to simulate the behavior of drivers in the laboratory. Therefore, traffic stream characteristics need to be collected only from the field.Name of student & registration no:
